About Us

"Rebuilding Together Spokane provides free repair and renovations for Veterans, low-income, elderly and disabled residents. Our program addresses basic living, life events, and quality of life needs of homeowners and the people served by the facilities with which we work. The work we do creates a safer enviornment and makes it possible for people to live independently longer in their own homes."

Please understand that Rebuilding Together Spokane is an all-volunteer affiliate. We all have full-time jobs, and we can not easily respond to phone calls and email inquiries for help. If you need help, please complete an application and mail it to our PO Box. We can only help those in the immediate Spokane area.

Board Members

Mark Altmar

I've been on the board for two and a half years, and this is my eleventh year of being associated with RTS.

I've been a resident of Spokane for the last twelve years.

I like any program or non-profit that believes in giving people a hand up not a hand out.

In my off time, I enjoy gardening, riding my bicycle, and fishing.

Go Seahawks!

Jandyl Doak

Board member for 2 years

I have spent most of my working career in some sort of food service from Restaurants to Non-Profits, but always feeding people. I am an avid gardener, love to cook and a triathlete. I love my girls, but they grew up too fast and I have four wonderful grandchildren.

Luis Licea

Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Northwest Laborers-Employers Training Trust

Board Member ‒ 1 Year

I was recruited by Mark Altmar and Mark Wagar to inspect homes, and I found that I was hooked. This is a great cause.

Stephanie Lilla

I am a Community Organizer for Coordinated Care and have been on the board for just over a year. I have a huge passion for affordable housing and love what Rebuilding Together Spokane provides local residents in need. I am Gonzaga alumna and first became involved with Rebuilding Together through serving an AmeriCorps term with Rebuilding Together San Francisco as their Volunteer Coordinator

I enjoy doing everything and anything outdoors; hiking, cycling, skiing, snowshoeing as well as playing recreational sports. I am an avid Zags fan and enjoying spending time with family and friends. Born in raised in Portland, Oregon, I have heart for the Northwest!

Kenalynn Merkel

I started with RTS in 2006 as Volunteer Coordinator, joining the Board as Secretary after my 1ST rebuild day.

Corey Plager

Cory Plager is the Director for School Financial Services at NorthEast Washington Educational Service District 101.

He is from Spokane where he lives with his wife and two kids.

Cory is new to the RBT board.

Mark Wagar

I have been a proud board member for a year and been having a ball volunteering for Rebuilding Together for six years. I was born and raised here in Spokane and it is an honor to help give back to the community. I have been involved in some immensely rewarding projects and am now thoroughly addicted. "The happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more."
