About Us

"Rebuilding Together Spokane provides free repair and renovations for Veterans, low-income, elderly and disabled residents. Our program addresses basic living, life events, and quality of life needs of homeowners and the people served by the facilities with which we work. The work we do creates a safer enviornment and makes it possible for people to live independently longer in their own homes."

Please understand that Rebuilding Together Spokane is an all-volunteer affiliate. We all have full-time jobs, and we can not easily respond to phone calls and email inquiries for help. If you need help, please complete an application and mail it to our PO Box. We can only help those in the immediate Spokane area.

Mark Altmar

Of all the non-profits to help, Rebuilding really speaks to my heart. If all the aging baby-boomers, who own homes, tried to obtain assisted living, the current system couldn't support them. The situation is only going to get worse. We must help our qualifying seniors, veterans, and spouses of veterans by making their homes safe and healthy. I challenge those who can help to join our cause. Be a part of the change.

I've been a resident of Spokane for the last fifteen years.

I like any program or non-profit that believes in giving people a hand up not a hand out.

In my off time, I enjoy gardening, riding my bicycle, and fishing.

I was recruited by Mark Altmar and Mark Wagar to inspect homes, and I found that I was hooked. This is a great cause.

I am a Community Organizer for Coordinated Care and have been on the board for just over a year. I am Gonzaga alumna and first became involved with Rebuilding Together through serving an AmeriCorps term with Rebuilding Together San Francisco as their Volunteer Coordinator

I enjoy doing everything and anything outdoors; hiking, cycling, skiing, snowshoeing as well as playing recreational sports. I am an avid Zags fan and enjoying spending time with family and friends. Born in raised in Portland, Oregon, I have heart for the Northwest!

Mark Wagar

I have been a proud board member for a year and been having a ball volunteering for Rebuilding Together for six years. I was born and raised here in Spokane and it is an honor to help give back to the community. I have been involved in some immensely rewarding projects and am now thoroughly addicted. "The happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more."
